About Coco Chanel:

Coco Chanel is one of the world’s most renowned fashion designers. As founder and namesake of the Chanel fashion brand, she is famous for her timeless clothing, trademark suits and little black dresses.

Born on 19 August 1883 into a poor family, Chanel's mother died at age 12 and she was sent to live in an orphanage run by the convent of Aubazine.

However, she would later find herself in Paris, where she first worked as a milliner before changing the fashion world with her pioneering use of simple fabrics such as jersey and tricot.

She revolutionized the way women wore clothes and, as a result, challenged women to live by their own rules.
