Mary Cassett Wall Art, 'The Goodnight Hug'

Museum-quality wall art made on thick and durable matte paper, this print of a major work by leading Impressionist artist, Mary Cassatt, will add a wonderful accent to any room.

Moving to Paris from her native America, Cassatt began to show regularly in the famed impressionist salons that featured contemporaries Edgar Degas and Édouard Manet.

Her work was chiefly concerned with figure compositions and she made a speciality of the mother and child theme. An area typically ignored by painters, her work thus offers a rare glimpse into the intimate bonds between a woman and her child.

This print, The Goodnight Hug (also A Goodnight Hug), was created in 1880 and was one of Cassatt's eleven entries to the Sixth Impressionist Exhibition in Paris in 1881.
